* PREP was the Peace Research and Education Project run by Paul Booth and was a parallel project to ERAP.  It aimed to rethink the Cold War and in light of JFK's famous speech in June 1963 about that topic (the day before his civil rights speech).

PREP's thinking shaped ERAP because the idea was that if the tenets of the Cold War are revised, freeing up money, then what could be done with that? A concerted effort to end poverty.

The foreign and domestic policy really were two sides of the same coin, hence ERAP folks being interested in what PREP was doing.
